Member Rules and Guidelines
Mission – Click will
cultivate a community for productive local photographers to share, create and
exhibit art.
Click is
about
- Sharing, showing
& learning
- Group shoots &
events
- Public shows &
projects
- Community
involvement & public relations
- Administration
& meetings
Leadership - To
maintain order and direction, Click will maintain a 4 member Leadership
Committee, known from here on as “The LC.” This committee will serve to:
- Maintain the focus
of the group
- Facilitate meetings
& projects
- Field opportunities
- Solve group issues
- Make decisions
(that don’t require a group vote)
- Oversee membership
- Make P.R. efforts
The LC will consist of 4 active members. Every 6 months one of them will step down to allow a new member
to take part in The LC. The member stepping down will be the longest standing
member on The LC, unless another member has reason to step down. The new member will be an individual who
either volunteers, or is nominated by the group. In the case of more than one
candidate, the choice will be put to a vote at a designated meeting.
Membership –
Membership will be limited to 20 members. New members will be
welcomed into the group after the following:
- A member takes on
sponsorship of the interested candidate and informs The LC that the
candidate will be introduced at the next available meeting.
- At the designated
meeting, the sponsor presents the candidate’s work and artist statement OR
the sponsor may bring the candidate in person to make a presentation
instead. In the latter case, the candidate will leave the meeting after
presenting so that members may have open discussion.
- Present members
will discuss and vote, with a 2/3 majority vote required for placement on
waiting list.
- Approved candidates
will remain on the waiting list for at least one meeting (regardless of
openings in the group) so that other members have time to consider the
candidate. After this period is
over, if an available spot exists,
the candidate will be invited to join by The LC.
- The candidate will
then be on a 3 meeting trial period to allow existing members to give
feedback to The LC regarding the new member. Any member with a valid
complaint should bring it to The LC. The LC will then determine if the new
member should be asked to leave group.
Shoots,
Shows and Projects
- All
members are welcome, but not required, to submit pieces for shows and
projects.
- The
facilitating member of the show or project will work with The LC to
organize the show or project. Other members will then be asked to take on
necessary tasks.
- All
work for group shows will be reviewed at a designated member exhibition
meeting. Members will discuss and critique (with proper etiquette please.)
All pieces submitted for said group project or show must be approved by
the present members. Pieces that have not been reviewed at the meeting
will not be eligible for submission unless the creator can obtain written
permission from ALL Click members before the final submission date.
- Creativity
and personal vision will always be encouraged and respected by all
members. However, due to content or space limitations, certain shows or
projects may require the artist to make certain considerations. These will
be outlined at the beginning of the project so that all members are aware
of the limitations and artists may have time to adjust plans or opt out of
participation. Provided there are
no issues with the gallery space, members are free to work in any size or
color they wish to use.
